Help getting Quicktime 2.x to work

Hello,

I have great problems of getting Quicktime 2.x, which is needed for some older software to work. It works with the 4.33 driver from matrox, but both of the new drivers, 4.51 and 5.13, I am getting BSDs (blue screens) with error messages. Anyone else had this problems ???

Vudu, try the following for problems with 16-bit Quicktime. I've copied a post of what I suggested for FLSwimmer a while back and it worked for him (and me!):



FLswimmer, I was pulling my hair out trying to get DK's Enc. of Science 2 to work using Quicktime 16bit and suffering the same dreaded blue screen of death...

What worked for me was to change a line in the QTW.INI file (in the Windows dir). Under the [Video] section, try changing:

Optimize=Hardware (it might say 'driver')

to

Optimize=BMP

This should do the trick - good luck!
