G400MAX and OpenGl not working at all.

I have tried everything and I can not get any program that uses openGl to work at all. I even broke down reformatted reinstalled win98 and the only driver I loaded, was for the G400MAX 5.13 and still no luck.

What happens is if a program uses OpenGl I immediately get an illegal operation error stating something about can not start Opengl, or something similar. Keeping the program from ever starting.

My system is as follows:

MOBO Tyan S1836DLUAN thunder 100
Two pentiumII 450's over clocked to 500 mhz
256mb cas 2 ram (corsair)
on board Intel nic card
SBlive (not installed)
Hauppauge tv/radio card (not installed)
Apdaptec 2940 scsi card (78xx driver)
Matrox G400MAX (5.13 drivers)

If anyone has any information to help please respond?

mine doesnt work either .q2 and q2demo just hang before they open.and I gotta hard boot.also cinimaster dvd says its main file cant be run it says I should check it..its there but thats all I can do. Ive used uninstaller 513 and reloaded 2 many times..Hmmmmmmm??:? Abit be6 p3 450 @ 124mhz x 1/4 bus so cards arent overclocked.I have agp g4oo 32meg retail, pci 1 empty"fan", pci 2 adaptec scsi, pci 3 el cheepo nic, pci 4 empty ,pci 5 "shared" monster sound 300, Isa , extra io card for lpt2 "irq 5"

You have the Abit BE6 Motherboard. I have it too.

I want to ask you if PCI slot 3 shares the same irq with the Ultra 66 Controller that is built on the motherboard.

when I put a card in PCI Slot 3, it gives me the same irq as the Ultra 66 controller. THis isn't good.

Manoj, It seems that way .I dont care cause my nic seems to get along so I never tried to set it manually.. but as is they are all using irq 15 "I disabled ide 1 and 2 so I could steal Irq 14 for my G400..

I don't know your MoBos, but they could possibly need busmastering drivers ...

Hi maggi .yes 6.1 fer sher.Ive gotten q3 demo to run but thats the only ogl app that doesnt bring down the system (it flat flies)
