  • My G400 Overclocking results

Is that the MAX or the 32dh or what. And if it's not too much trouble could someone explain these g200clk numbers 307??? How do you get 307 and have the core@153 and mem@204 i've never used the program (no g200) so it's just mumbo jumbo to me.

    Hi,

All u have to do is put the G200CLK software somewhere, then u can directly create a shortuc to it in ur Start/Starup directory, it's like :

    x:\xxx\g200clk.exe /1 yyy
Where yyy is the value for the overcloking, the default value is 252, u can try 270 and then go up till it locks...

My G400 is a 32Mb DualHead bought in OEM, it's not a Max.

    Hope this helps.

      My G400 Overclocking results

Tried G200CLK and it works great, could overclock my G400 to 306 so far, at 308 I get a black screen and have to reboot, it works at 307 but I prefer to keep a margin.

I think 307 is according to G4Set 204Mhz for the Memory and 153Mhz for the CPU.
A funny thing though, when I touch the heatsink, it's not very hot... I feel like the CPU could be pushed furter, may be it's just the memory...

      My system is :
      Driver 5.13/Win98
      Celeron 366Mhz overclocked to 567Mhz
      128 Mb Ram
      All SCSI

      Here r my results before/after overclocking :

Quake III Highest settings, Timedemo Demo1
      640-32Bits : 43.8/44
      800-32Bits : 40.9/42.5
      1024-32Bits : 32.2/37.3

      Quake II
      640-32Bits : 78/83.8
      800-32Bits : 74.5/80
      1024-32Bits : 59.3/69.5
      1600-32Bits : 23.9/32.1

3DMark Max Average CPU Mark is 5200

      640-16Bits : 4334/4383
      800-16Bits : 4368/4425
      1024-16Bits : 4259/4397
      1280-16Bits : 3520/4053
      -------------------------
      640-32Bits : 4383/4408
      800-32Bits : 4368/4422
      1024-32Bits : 3970/4300
      1280-32Bits : 2566/3265

      Any coments r welcomed.

      Patryk.

To use the G200CLK, do you go to the MS-DOS prompt? or where?

An easier way is to create a Notpad TXT document with the Command line you wish... then just "Save As" and change the .TXT to .BAT....

this is great for testing purposes or if some games allow more or less O/C'ing...

I put a big heatsink on the chip along with a fan...then eight small heatsinks on each of the RAM modules. I then took a 80cfpm fan and mounted it on the side of the case blowing right at the card. So far, using performance tuner I'm doing 202 mem/152 core. I am going to try to reach 205 just for bragging rights as it won't make any kind of difference. I don't remember my benchmarks off hand...just that I got 3840 some 3Dmarks with my Celeron 450 system...128mb RAM
