  • Newbie w/ Question about D3D on G200

Okay, I'm confused. I've got a 16MB Millennium G200. I loaded the latest/greatest Powerdesk 5.13. Now, when I go to the Direct X diagnostic window, it tells me it's main driver is G200.drv and the version is 4.11.01.2110. However, when I go to the Matrox driver site and look at the certified drivers (4.33- which, unless I'm mistaken, are older but more stable files), it says the display driver is version 4.11.01.4330! Am I nuts or is this a newer version of the display drivers to be used by Direct X than the one in the latest driver release by Matrox??? Now, the certified driver download doesn't appear to have the ICD, which I'd like, but does have a more recent version of the display driver. Is there a way to use the ICD from 5.13 but the display driver from 4.33?
I hope this doesn't confuse everyone but I just don't get it.
    Thanks in advance.

Most of us gave up trying to figure out Matrox's numbering scheme a long time ago. 4.33 is ancient, and does not work with OGL. 5.13 is the latest. Your best bet is to chose one, and go with it. Personaly, I think 5.13 is way better than 4.33. Mixing and matching files from one version to another is just begging for instability...
