  • Should MATROX design the cards only?

With all the delays with retail versions of the G400 - Should Matrox think about farming out their manufacturing facilities, and following the Nvidia route for future cards? Would having people behind them, like Diamond or Creative, help in getting the cards faster to retail chains?

Matrox has had horrible delays waiting for their FABS getting the chips built for the G400MAX. They may have just missed the boat for the G400.

(FYI - A working MODEL of the NV10 will be shown to the public - but when will it be manufactured?)

Matrox already farm it out. NEC fab the chips for them.

And the problem has not been Matrox's inability to produce the cards but NEC's inability to keep up with the demand for the chips.

joel: considering the problems NEC has had with providing enough PowerVR chips for SEGA, it really isnt that surprising.
