I run rh6 on my G200 and it rocks! I cant wait until my get my G400Max and theres drivers for it. Anyways, have you tried www.xfree86.org or http://metalab.unc.edu/LDP/ That should be a good place to start or load up xchat and go onto efnet and try #linux or #linuxhelp.

      Thanks PIT...but isn't AAAAAAAARrrrrrrrrrGggggggg!! supposed to have 10 r's ?
majestic12, I'll check those sites tonite, and do a bit of xchatting if I get stuck. Is RH 6.0 a big improvement over 5.2? I understand it comes with KDE, which looks pretty cool from what I've seen.
I'll let you know if I get anything working later tonite.

        DarkSyd:
The easiest way for you to upgrade the X server will be with rpm's. If you can wait a few days, XFree86 v. 3.3.5 is due out literally any day now. They haven't released everything for 3.3.4 b/c they said they would have everything ready for 3.3.5, and wanted to focus on that.
        And yes, I like RH6 over RH5.2

Thanks for the heads up Wombat. After reading through the other stuff, I agree, rpms sound easiest. I can wait a couple of days.

RH Linux 5.2 and G400...how do I install a new XServer?

I haven't been able to use my Linux system since I got my G400..it runs in VGA (ick). I understand that the newest snapshot of Xfree86 has support for G400. Only prob is, I've never had to install a new server, and I can't find any info anywhere on how to do it.
I'm a Linux newbie, so talk slowly and use small words

The desktop looks nicer and seems more friendly. However I can't get my network card
working it worked on the off with 5.2 it didn't with RH 6. I had to re-install it manually I later accidentley trashed Linux (Its easy to do) and re-installing 6 couldn't get the card to go at all. At the moment I'm to busy to piss around with it.
