When is the retail release of G400 MAX?

Heh. Well apparently it already has been. I don't know of anyplace at least in the US that actually *carries* matrox products anymore except for Fry's Electronics. Now I've lived all over the country - California, Colorado, Wisconsin, Chicago, New York, Washington DC - and I've never had a damned Fry's Electronics anywhere near me. Best Buy and CompUSA don't carry Matrox anymore, and any of the real quick mail order places like PCConnection don't list anything under G400.

The 'mom and pop' computer shops do carry Matrox but so far I've only been able to find the 300mhz, single head OEM variety there.

Maybe every retailer finally got sick of Matrox's "it'll ship when it ships, and maybe later than that, stop asking us, we're Matrox, bluh, bluh!" attitude.

I have one tidbit: 8,000 MAXes on backorder at HardwareStreet.com. Tentative date is the 9th.

Congratulations, Matrox! As the operator said, let's hope they can fill the order or the cancellations will start.

I have to call back and ask about the regular G400. I have a system on the way...
