Sorry to bother guys, but it seems lot of people are having probs with her MAX, and because I will receive mine next wednesday I think that it would be fine to know what probs I will find with the MAX in my system.

For one, I have a feeling you won't need that dxr2 card anymore. From what I hear, the G400 plays DVD's just as good as the best, without excessive CPU consumption. I don't see any reason why you should have problems running your card, as far as compatibility goes with your system. When you get the card, let us know how it does. If you have problems, don't be afraid to ask questions. Everyone needs help, now and again.

The only problem you could come across is the AGP bus speed being at 83mhz. From all accounts so far, the G400 isn't bothered by the high bus speed, but you never know when running so far out of spec.
As Matt says - you may want to lose the dxr2 card though, as it's just wasting a PCI slot and an IRQ.

dotado, i would definitly lose the dxr2 card i have one and the dvd playback on the matrox is much better. , watch out for irq conflicts with that mx300 sound card. that's all .

I was amazed at the quality of the DVD, even from the little ol 16MB OEM G400 card I got. Its in a stock-clocked P II 400.


While I have a Sigma Hollywood +, which in my opinion still looks better, if I had this sotware DVD first I wouldn't have bought the decoder card.

Thank you guys to share your knowledge with me.
I will keep my dxr2 decoder board for one more month, because It gives dolby 5.1 sound to my cambridge theater 5.1, then I will receive my mx25 board (its on preorder too).
Then, I will change my nick to "preorder man" or perhaps "Infradotado"

The MX300 can be tricky but luckily I didn't have any problem. You might want to make sure that your AGP aperture size in your bios is set to 256.
