Greetings!
I realize that WinTune is not an industry standard benchmarking app, but I was curious on performance of the G400 vanilla and how it stacks up against my old G200...Don't laugh, here are both 16 bit and 32 bit color scores:
G400 16 Bit Color 32 Bit Color
2D 123.06 MPS 82.8 MPS
Direct 3D 174.06 MPS 110.44 MPS
3D Null Dri Speed 96.78 96.86
3D Driver Speed 67.75 67.17
Open GL: 140.08 MPS 89.09 MPS
In 2D, my old G200 would top out at 82 MPS in 16 bit and drop into the 50s in 32 bit. 3D is laughable enough that I won't even post. BTW...my G200 was the Millenium with 8 mb of SGRAM.
In comparison to the TNT2's that were tested with the same processor as mine (400 MHZ Pentium II not overclocked...16 bit color for G400 on average was about 15% faster in all categories. Go to Windows Magazine and check for yourself...
My curiosity is somewhat satisfied...anyone know how to run FPS using Descent 3?
Bob
