On this bare bones clean installation the mouse is running on the default Win98 drivers. Haven't installed the Logitech or the MS Precision Pro joy stick software.

Tried the USWC setting, no gain.
Does in fact lock up in OGL mode.
Installed the G400 in another system, an Asus P2B with a PII 400, same symptoms. Again bus mastering on/off = nowork/work.
Trying to arrange for a swap at the retailer, wish me LOL! I'll let you all know the outcome.

Mujoken, thanks for the tip on pcilist. In regards to the OpenGL problems, did you try any other openGL apps besides Quake2 and Thumbs Plus?

Well the guy at the retail store refused to swap a G400 for another G400 so I was unable to confirm whether or not it was this particular board which I think it was but, that's life. The guy just bold face insisted there was nothing wrong with it, he was able to deduce this just by holding it in his hands and looking at it. Such powers are beyond me. I couldn't seem to get across to him that I had spent hours trying to isolate the problem. I solved the problem with a refund. Now I have my money back he has a perfectly good board (maybe) and someone else is about to inherit a head ache (again maybe, I honestly hope not). I bought a V770 TNT2 Ultra (don't scream traitor!) I really wanted that dual head feature but one head is better than none. I'll probably be posting on the Diamond forum for the next week or so the way these video cards go : )
I'd sincerely like to thank all of you for your time and suggestions, maybe we'll meet again here when they release the G800!
