  • Does snowstorm = bad card?

I too am having random snowstorms and lock-ups. Does this mean that my card is defective or is it a bios/drive problem?

Oh, you wanted a real answer. Hehe.

My feelings on the matter are that massive random intereference (snowstorms) are caused by a defective card. I seriously doubt some magic driver somewhere will cure the problem. If you've already tried IRQ conflicts and the latest BIOS/drivers for your mobo and the card... then trade it in.

Snowstorms are usually caused by cold weather. And the lockups could be your pipes freezing too.

        sorry!

Yes we have that in Finland a lot!
And sometimes your system can just jam if you stick your tongue on side of a railing at winter.

Most likely you need the new drivers from vias website.

Ok, i'll try the the VIA MVP3 drivers when i get home, hopefully the AGP driver will do the job. I really don't want to have to send the card back.

Rather than write this all over again, I will just direct you to this thread. This is a common problem with true AGP cards and SS7 mvp3 boards if the drivers are not installed properly. (and a bios setting is notmade). http://forums.gagames.com/forums/For...ML/002622.html
