Has anyone been able to run your DVD at 1600x1200 resolution, 32-bit color with the G400 (especially the G400Max or G400-32MB)? All I got was low on video memory error and the DVD player aborted. It's really an inconvenience having to switch resolution everytime I want to watch DVD on my computer.

The bundled DVD player won't do it.
Some others (like PowerDVD) can, but it's not the best at 1600x1200 fullscreen. That's a lot of scaling to do.
What I did was made a bunch of display schemes with QuickDesk, and set up some shortcut keys. A quick ctrl+alt+1, 2, 3, etc. will snap me right to whatever my desired res isCore2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

Quickdesk...it's part of Powerdesk. That cute little monitor icon Matrox puts in your system tray on the task bar. If it's not there, you can turn it on in the display proerties > advanced > options tab.
Just click on the icon, and all the options for desktop schemes and hot keys are right thereCore2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

I just ran Cinemaster at 1152 x 864 x 32; and this is on my Millenium G200 16 meg AGP. Ran like a charm.
POwerDVD ran at this resolution as well; but playback with powerDVD is *terrible* compared to cinemaster.
I can't verify any resolutions higher than this due to the fact that my monitor is only rated for 1024x768 (I had to trick it into 1152x864 via matrox quickdesk. Great feature.)

How high a color depth & rez you can use depends on if you have a 16m or 32m card. 32m gives you more.
On my G400 w/16m I can get 16 bit playback at 1600x1200 on the desktop, but not 24 or 32 bit. The 16 bit limit at higher desktop rez's doesn't really matter since I don't watch DVD's on the desktop anyhow.
I send the DVD out through the DualHead to a second monitor. That way I can "multitask" ;-) As a matter of fact I'm watching "The Crow" that way now....

I'm using Cinemaster on G200 at 1280 x 1024 x 16 bit colour... playback is awesome using Powerdesk 4.51.
If I use the new Powerdesk I get "jaggies" along the edges of objects (like shoulders & tables & stuff), so I'm waiting for an update which I hope will improve things
