G400 16 MB?

If I want a cheap card and buys a G400 with 16 MB, what will I lose then compared to a 32Mb version?
Any performance hit in games, any unavailble resolutions?

Look at the Murc G400 16 mb VS. G400 Max.

That will give you an idea.
Personally I think the 32 mb version is a waste of money... 16mb, or Max.

Well, maxie, the G400 16MB gives you alot for the money. Resolution range is same, from 640x480 to 2048x1536, but the MAX has faster refresh rates above 1600x1200.


As far as frame rates, I get 61 FPS in Quake II and 83 FPS in forsaken at 800x600 resolution with a P II 400 and the colors are mo better than with a VooDoo II card.

A MAX will give you better frame rates and at higher resolutions. Magazine reviews have put it at 70 FPS for Quake II at 1024x768 and Forsaken at 118 FPS at 1024x768.

No idea about what a regular G400 32MB will do.
