Screen went blank when switching resolution

Hello,

When I try to switch resoultion, the screen went blank and I have to restart the machine. There is a 50% of chance this will happen. The following is my system spec.

Mill G200 8MB
PD 5.13
BIOS 2.3(if I remember it right...)
ADI MicroScan 4gp monitor
Abit BX1
P2 300
128 MB RAM

This happen more frequenty when I start a game that use D3d. But it did not happen on every D3d games. It happened on Tomb Raider 1 & 2, EverQuest. It did not happen on Final Fantasy 7 and the Forsaken demo. And it never happen on OGL games. Anyone has any thoughts?

It sounds more like the monitor is being asked to run at a to higher refresh rate and is switching of to protect itself.

No. No a irq problem and it pass all the D3d test.

About the refresh rate... I grab the monitor manual and use the powerdesk to set the Recommend refresh rate... still won't work.

I wonder if it's one these I can't detect the monitor properly. Anyway before exploring Avenue what monitor is it and what resolution your trying to go to.
