Update for the Dutch people here (G400 and MAX)

Hi,

I've said in another thread that 3 companies stocked G400's. Well, I called them this morning, and they're all sold out, except for the 16Mb SH G400's.

If you want a Max, you'll have to wait until December/January before they have sufficient amounts in stock.

I've ordered my plain vanilla G400 32 Mb DH at Comptech now. They will email/call me the moment it comes in.

Detail: All companies I called said litterally: "Matrox cannot give a hard date on when we get new stock in. All we know is that the cards are being manufactered as fast as they can, but they're 'out of their hands' quicker than they can manufacter them."

Well, there you have it.

Boy! This is bad news! No Max until December and January. Who will wait for such a long time?

I will find out more today when I write to Matrox and find out.

M&M, the above message is for Dutch companies (or probably all European companies).
I called another company that said "they were expecting the Max between September and October". That was the date they got from Matrox.

As you and I know, most Max'es are going straight to the pre-order people.

Well, a normal G400 32 Mb DH should be addequate, I think.

a month ago, i think, you mailed me a companies name wich sold G400's. You mentioned powerline, and so i ordered the G400 32MB DH. I got it the next day. Sorry for you to hear that powerlines supply ran short, hehe

I and a friend were lucky to get the latest two G400 32 MB cards at MyCom Eindhoven about three weeks ago. Since then I have had the pleasure of a very fast 3D card which is with ease overclockable to MAX speeds.

I got my max last week (preorder), but three weeks ago i was at Informatique (near den Haag), and they had the G400 32mb DH in stock...

have you tried that store jorden?? (on their website they say the max is expected at 30/08/99)

I was waiting for the Max to show up... that one company who said they could get a couple of Max'es by September/October was Comptech.

I called them back and asked if they could relay my order and make it either a vanilla G400 32 Mb DH or a Max... I guess my vanilla is in earlier, but who am I to complain??

Iff'n you're just looking to get a G400, why not order one from someone in the USA, and have them ship it? It'll cost you a few extra bucks, but you'd have it a LOT sooner... I can get 32MB DH units overnighted to me right now. (I did, two of them, almost 2 months ago now...)

Your right, I also wouldn't dare to try and order from the US. If it's broken it costs you REALLY extra bucks.

I got the G400 32 MB SDRAM dualhead for f525,- (dutch currency ;-). I wouldn't even dear to imagine how expensive the G400 MAX might be.

But then again, for my Voodoo2 (my first 3D card), I payed around f650,-. So a very nice price for a card which plays most games I use as smooth as the Voodoo2 but then at 1024x768x32 instead of 640x480x16. And overclocking to 300 PLL is no problem at all. Even without fan!

Ik hoop voor je dat ze binnenkort een lading krijgen hier in Nederland. Bij powerline zouden ze er ongeveer deze week een lading moeten hebben krijgen. Maar ja, er stonden alleen bij die winkel al over de (!!!) 250 (!!!) orders voor zowel de G400 en de MAX.

Frank, niet alleen bij Powerline... maar bij BSE en Comptech stan orders voor de G400 en MAX.

Ik kan de G400 32 Mb DH krijgen voor fl 439,- inclusief BTW (excl. portokosten zijnde een 10tje)

Mwoch..

De Max ligt rond de 525 tot 645 inclusief BTW. Gewoon kiezen !!
