ManojM, all you have to do is download the region selector program, as rylan said, this way you can pass-through the AC3 signal through the SBLive digital output. Choose Ensoniq/SBlive on the expanded menu. As soon as you play your next DVD, you will see the Dolby Digital Light of the Desktop Theater 5.1 turn on.

Dont upgrade Matrox DVD player version, with the new cinemaster 1.032, because it will not work. I tried it all, and finally had to return to Matrox version.

Yes, it does work. You can have AC3 with Matrox DVD Player and the SBLive.

I'll send you the region selector by e-mail, just to make sure you use the same version, cause I know that this one works.

Wow, Bobby, talk about a stutter.

I am not familiar with Matrox's DVD software, since I use my hardware decoder and CL's software. For those who are interested, the Desktop Theater does have a Digital SPIDF input, and the full retail version of the SB Live! has a Digital SPIDF output (you can also buy digital I/O's for the Value too).

I am running the AC-3 pass through on my SB Live! so I can use the SPIDF for sending CD audio to my desktop theater. Sounds awesome, digital from the CD to the sound card to the decoder. I can crank that puppy all the way up and not hear a bit of distortion, fuzz or hissing.

I have a similar setup, with a G400, SBLive, and Boston Acoustics DigitalTheater 6000 (Dolby Digital 5.1 speaker system). I upgraded the decoding engine to 1.032, and using LiveWare 2.0 or 2.1 I can get full AC-3 for DVD playback.

                      SlurpDog:

How do you upgarde the decoder engine to 1.032?

Is it just copy the file and replace the old one or what?

I can't get ac-3 playback but this is because I have not upgrade the decoder engine.

                            Hi!

                            Finally I got AC-3 output.

But I didn't use Matrox's DVD software this time.

You see a friend of mine who works are Creatrive's office in Hong Kong gave me a hint that I should download the powerDVD 2.0 evaluation software since it supports SBLive and can downstream AC-3 to 4 speakers via the digital I/O card.

The only question I had was, "Will I be able to get Power Dvd to output on the TV, just like the Matrox DVD?" Well the answer is yes!

It works! Now I have to just wait for Matrox to update their DVD software so that we can have support for AC-3 and then everything will be great.

For now I am using the Power DVD 2.0 software.

Just wanted to let you know!

                              Hi,

Are you all getting full AC3 or just 4 channels? CL clearly said that the SBLIVE did not do AC3 but only 4 channels. You need an extra adapter (not even the full SB LIVE) to be able to attain this.

                              Ciao

Well I get AC-3 downmixed to 4 channels. But then I can hear from all of my 5 speakers and it does feel like AC-3!
