    You've nailed it Allan1

I have spent all day with new os installs latest bios(started with new drivers and PD) removing cards changin IRQ's you name it. Then I remembered having troubles booting with good memory in an ABIT BH6. It wanted the two slots furthest from the processor, and from what I read it seemed to be a timing issue. As a last resort (for today) I was rereading comments and stumbled on your reminder about ABIT's and mem slot trbls. Sure enough! I changed to Slot 1&2 (opposite fix to last time) and my screen corruption has vanished. Was getting vertical lines that looked like morse code(probly telling me I shoulda got the BP6 with TWIN 366's at 550! Anyways good find and thanks for the reminder. Now on to reinstalling all those cards again Any one know how mem pos could cause screen graphic corruption?

It would appear I spoke too soon
I neglected to mention that as well as move the ram I reseated the G400 as well. Everything was peachy until I tried some 3d gaming and the morsecode vertical pinstriping was back, and would not go away until after another reseat of the MAX. The diagnosis of mem trbls by me was wrong it would appear. I'm back to hunting this bogey down

I know the G200 runs fine with USWC, but I am not sure with the G400. Anyone know?

Not a trouble shooting tip, but a good peroformance tip anyway, especially for 16mb G400 owners. Get a program like Freemem and run it before using any 3d apps. I have my AGP aperture set to 128 with 192mb ram (3dmarks dropped by 150 when testing at 64) and I noticed that one big skip during the 3dmark demo when it was texture swapping. Clearing memory first (usually have 128mb free) has eliminated this skip, and some other games in general just appear to run that tad bit better ... Hell, even if you don't have a G400, get freemem and use it anyway, great program ...
