  • Lucky 5ns memory!!!..................Vanilla@210/157

Well, when I got my G400 Vanilla DH 32MB, I was really excited about the “5ns” Memory that came on it (Max’s used memory).

Somebody asked me for some benchmarks.
I have to say that I overclocked my G400 with the latest Powerstrip since G200clk would give me very strange behaviors.

I’m writing this now after some benchmarks tests with Quake II and III.

By the way the clock and memory are set to: 210/157

    Quake II 1024/16bit syncON - crusher.dm2 43.7 fps
Quake III 1024/16bit syncON Texture High/ Trilinear 35.2

    My system P3 500@560.

I guess I can say now that I was lucky to get my plain g400 with 5ns memory!

So you got a MAX after all. That's great, congrats.
Looks like QA only puts a MAX box around a MAX if it's tolerance is +10% or better...

I got my vanilla 32 Mb Dh yesterday, but unfortunely it has 6 ns SEC memory. I can push it to 153/204. One step more and it start drawing multicoloured dots in 3d (2d is still fine too). The memory just can´t take it, but I´m sure the core could do more... Now, when will somebody write a little utility so that we can change the multipliers? I certanly would like to see mine running at 170/170

I have a G400 SH 32 OEM, been overclocking for a couple of days, mine has the 6ns ram, the best I can get is 145/194.

I am content with this tho, runs great and much better than my last card.

              By the way,
Before I overclocked my G400 vanilla with 5n memory from 126/168 to 157/210, I took out the heatsink that came with it and I place a Slim cooler ($12). (Better than the Lasanha in my opinion...)

I did it like that because I needed all the 4 PCI slots empty.

I did go higher than 157/210. But it seemed that at this clock rate, windows was very stable and I didn't notice any artifacts on the 2d or 3d.

I'm running @157/210 since yesterday and I've run most of the popular benchmarks and I didn't get any lock ups so far.

By the way my FSB is 112 and my AGP is 2X, my bus mastering is enable according to PClist.

                Buuri,

If you are refering to me kidding, nope.

I have heard of some people getting higher with the same exact card.

running great where it is and thats as close to at max speeds as i'm gonna get, anything higher starts to get dots on screen after playing games for a few hours.

                  Hey guys
I was wondering how to tell what kind of memory is on the G400? No I haven't look at the card yet. Sorry about this post if that is the way. Has anyone tried a Super Duper Slot Fan from 3dcool.com for o/cing?
