  • G400 MAX and 245MHz!!!

How in god's name do you get a 245MHz clock speed from this card as I've seen some in some posts?

Nothing to it. Powerstrip ver 2.51.07 (latest) will allow this oc. The speed you can get will probably depend on your internal case temperature.

This is from your *ahem* review

Also remember that these G400 drivers are in beta v5.13 (no openGL ICD).
So should you get a TNT2U or a Matrox G400 Max? Go for the Matrox G400 if you are into a kick ass 3D/2D card with tons of features but no openGL ICD, YET!!
So tell me how you have managed to get 36 fps in Q3? Software rendering, perhaps?

Drivers 5.13 are NOT beta. They are final drivers.
The G400 HAS an ICD since the very first release. The ICD is installed when you install the drivers. The ICD is not beta, it´s also a final version. One could argue that it needs some improvement, but it HAS one.

About the Mhz speeds, you surely know your milleage may vary according to the quality of that particular piece of hardware. Some (maybe few) will do the 245 Mhz dance, soe wont.

And please don´t publish misleading info on your site.

My case is open and I have three 4" fans blowing air in it, so that should be enough cooling. I probably need to lap the video card chip and/or slap on a new heasink and fan
