My MAX is flakey at 250 MHz. Have run it at 247. Settled for 245.

I would use something to verify that. Those numbers sound crazy high.
If the memory is at 247, that means the PLL is arounf 370, making the graphics clock run at about 185.
That's just insane
Use G4set to verify what PStrip is doing to your clock settings and dividers...Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

Well, using PowerStrip my MAX memory (SEC 5ns) seems to max out at 240 (180/240, G4set confirms this), so I have no reason to doubt his 245.P3@600 | Abit BH6 V1.01 NV | 256MB PC133 | G400MAX (EU,AGP2X) | Quantum Atlas 10K | Hitachi CDR-8330 | Diamond FirePort 40 | 3c905B-TX | TB Montego A3D(1) | IntelliMouse Explorer | Iiyama VisionMaster Pro 17 | Win2K/NT4

Ouch ...
I knew the MAXes would be flying
Now imagine the beginning of the New Millennium (wow, could be a good product name for a follow up of the MAXes - do you read that Matrox ?), that is to say in about half a year, when the production is into Rev-5 state or something (remember my hell of a Mystique G200 ?) ...
And also have in mind that the die itself could be shrunk to 0.18µ ...
Gee, I better stop dreaming

I would guess, on Wednesday, core/mem speed OC will be the speed of the core and the speed of the memory, in overclocked condition. Hope this will get you going.

Heya, Scytale ... on the funny side today ?
Anyway, The Rev, you should increase in 5MHz steps followed by stability tests.
As long as you don't experience any artifacts or lockups, you're on the safe side and could increase 5MHz more.
When your card is clocked too high, go back to previous settings and you should be fine.
But don't forget to attach a fan before you start OCing !!!

Hi there Mags. Was just trying to give word to my man the Rev, CompUSA level of course
Seems I missed your 'flying MAXes'. I can get mine to fly allright, but it does take an open window... to cool it.
Anyway, never stop dreaming. You mean you still didn't receive the T&L accelerator daughter board for your CopperMAX???P3@600 | Abit BH6 V1.01 NV | 256MB PC133 | G400MAX (EU,AGP2X) | Quantum Atlas 10K | Hitachi CDR-8330 | Diamond FirePort 40 | 3c905B-TX | TB Montego A3D(1) | IntelliMouse Explorer | Iiyama VisionMaster Pro 17 | Win2K/NT4

Heya!
My G400 32MB OEM overclocks to 159/212 for those who are wondering...above that i get artifacts on the screen (also, i have a small fan blowing on the core)
I get 38fps in demo2 of Q3test at 1024 @ 32bpp w/ all options maxed out except for bilinear filtering. I find setting it too trilinear give a 5fps drop. (this is on a PIII-450 oc' to 580 w/ 128Mb of RAM, btw)
I imagine that the MAX should be able to overclock heaps further w/ 5ns RAM (mine has 6ns RAM)

My G400 32MB oem does around 148/198 without a fan, been too lazy to rig something up.
But the default speed is good enough for my system, can be a tad faster even in some benchmarks. Overclocking is really only good for bandwidth hungry situations like running in 1600x1200x32 or extreme multitexturing.

The new powerstrip will work on the G200.
Kruzin is right, the graphics clock is 185 MHz at 245 MHz memory clock.
Had a lock-up at 245 MHz memory clock playing a DVD movie. Will settle at 240 MHz for the time being.
My PIII450 is overclocked to 581 MHz. Does this affect the graphics clock (having an 86-MHz AGP bus)?
