          Boohooo

My G400 can´t handle 160/200... Locks up with a fantastic screen mess after 10 secs...

Max 156/195, or whatever, but there´s hardly a speed gain from 150/200.

Oh well. 150/200 for now. That´s life.

This is the utility that I used to push my G200 Mystique into the 4151 realm in 3dMark99 Max. It is the best OC utility I've used. (I haven't tried them all, some I don't think I'd trust)...

yeah nuno, it aint worth the stability loss for 2 extra fps in games. I benchmarked mine at 160/200 for about an hour, running looped quake 2 massive and crusher. no problems for me. My timedemo scores went up about 2fps from 150/200 to 160/200

                  Hi Nuno,

Do you have enough cooling in your case?
                  Just wondering.

Hmmm it allows for some bad ass tweaking, but it doesn't seem to like my MAX at all.

Whenever I apply changes (even startup defaults, 150/200 w/ nothing touched) it seems to change memory timings anyway (in an unobvious way) and I get display corruption after a few seconds. (When I try running 3DMark99 I get hard system lockups down the racing track.)

Too bad because I wanted to try a different GClk/MClk ratio (to get to 180/225 and up). With PowerStrip I can get my MAX up to 180/240, and I think the core could take even more than that.

I've had some pretty good results with MGA Tweak and the MAX, it's nowhere near as overclockable as the regular G400 but I found I was able to get worthwhile speed increase. I'll publish some numbers if I can ever find a spare minute or two to get them together. I do have additional cooling on the MAX in the form of the cardcooler which has two fans blowing air over the surface of the bard so maybe that helps.

                        DK_

Mine is not one of the best cooled case I ever seem, but I think it would involve more than cooling more the case: Maybe a new (huge) heatsink and fan, and I´m not willing to do it at the moment. 150/200 is perfectly stable.

And it crashes like 10 secs after, I don´t think it was even time to warm up.

                        Thanks for the advice, anyway.

Well, if it looks like a bug and chirps like a bug... I only have to press Apply without making any changes to get corruption. All settings appear to be okay, but press Apply and there you go. It seems there's more to programming this chip than meets the eye...

                          I'll ask Liew about it.

Yes - MGATweak was the utility that I used to break the 4100 barrier of my G200 Mystique. It works very, very well. I'm still waiting on the G400Max so I haven't been able to test that.

So what's your ambition level this time Guyver? Is it going to be the MAX 10K project? I sorta look forward to it
