latest drivers

using a g200 with the latest drivers, previous to this release today, after using 4.51 for ages and being more than happy with it,them. i havent done any benchmarks with any of the driver after 4.51, any comments on which r the best to use, is it worth going 4 the latest or 5.13 or should i have just stuck with the 4.51, r there any major benefits going to a later driver than 4.51. speed is the only basic issue all or any comments much appreciated.

We have G200s at work running fine on the CD shipped drivers....

I'll be watching this thread as well ...i'm still running my g2oo Mil card and am not encouraged by the G400 reduction in performance....hopefully the G200 performance will increase? any comments or benchmarks thro 'em out for all to see...

We should put this in perspective SOME people are experiencing a loss in G400 performance that is by no means everyone. Others are seeing no differnce, others are seeing speed increases. The problem is many people are just postinG a "5.21 SUCKS" message and not providing any system specs which prevents us in trying to identify a common problem if there is one.

Ok, if there is ANYONE that got better performance with the 5.21 drivers compared to 5.13 drivers in q3 PLEASE REPORT !

Vsync is enabeld now... the fps is the same as 5.13 sorry

Well, got the 5.21 drivers installed and I didn't see an increase in performance...at least on 3dMarkMax. I used the uninstaller first. Still about the same....

5.13- 800x600 16bpp=2564
5.21- 800x600 16bpp=2559

Specs:

G200 16meg 2.3(? latest anyway)bios
Abit BH6
300a @ 464mhz

I have seen about 20+ poster with speed decrease/chrash/bug errors. and ONE with a speed increase of 5fps in Q3. Now that one may have done something special/right. Hey Ant how about you? Can you do a test with q3 and a possible suggestion to what's important to do?

I don't know about Q3, but my WinMark 3D scores are higher with the 5.21 drivers at 1280x1024 with 16-bit z buffer:

5.13 drivers 3776 Winmarks
5.21 drivers 3837 Winmarks

No other changes (450 PIII at 581 and MAX at 245 MHz memory clock)
