  • Lasagna BGA Cooler Type B

How well does the Lasagna BGA Cooler Type B cool a vanilla G400 32MB? Anyone try ones of these? TennMax wants $24 for it.

Heres a link to it: http://www.tennmax.com/matrox_g200.htm

    Thanks,

      cpld005:

I recently bought one of these coolers and am wondering what your steps to installing it were. Actually what did you do to remove the original heatsink?

      ------------------
Pentium II 350MHz, 128MB RAM ,10GB + 850 MB Driver, Samsung DVD, Diamond Monster Sound II, and of course a G400 32MB DH (I like the specs of the new GeForce 256 as well).

      Yah!!
Pentium III 500MHz, 128MB RAM ,10GB + 850 MB Driver, Samsung DVD, Diamond Monster Sound II, and of course a G400 32MB DH (O/C 200/150)
      blah blah blah

I just got one of these to review. I got the heatsink off using a pen knife, pry it off very gently, it is not stuck on as solidly as it feels. Just be careful what you lever against.

          Hi,
I just gor an old Pentium fan and screewed it down onto the center of the heatsink.
The screews were just big enough that they went in between the smaill fins and screwed right in tight.
Works great. heatsink is cool to the touch at 145/193 (plain vanilla OEM 32 meg single output board).
Never had a lockup or screen freeze yet.
BTW Reveolt and the new Microsoft NFL Fever 2000 are GREAT on the G400!!

How much longer till what? :P

Ant: In your review, could you do a comparison between the TennMax Lasagna and a Pentium/486 fan. I wonder which is better and by how much.

I just bought a 27CFM 60mm fan to attach to my G400 Heatsink. I hope this Lasagna rig doesnt whoop it's butt to bad or I'll cry

              Hehe
