  • OpenGL driver not being used with 5.21

After installing Powerdesk 5.21 for use on my Mystique G200, all applications that use OpenGL defaults to the software driver that ships with Win98!
The G200ICD.DLL file has been correctly installed, and there is a reference to it in the OpenGL driver section of the registry.
    Any help is appreciated...

What color depth are you running at?
It needs to be at 16bit or 32bit.

Aside from that, hard to say what it could be....need system specs, or any other info you can give...

Hmm... that previous message wasn't exactly brimming with excessive information
The 5.21 driver was installed after using the uninstall utility from Matrox. I have not done any modifications.
I'm currently running a dual-monitor setup using my Mystique G200 AGP (8mb) and a Millenium II PCI. Both cards are running 32 bit screenmodes, and switching to 16 bit didn't seem to help. I also ran an OpenGL benchmarking program to test the driver, but it too only found the Micro$oft software driver.

Here are my basic system specs:

      Windows98 w/DirectX 6.1
      Asus P2L97 Mainboard
      Intel Celeron 333MHz
      64 MB RAM

What drivers are you using for the MillII?

You should use different drivers for 2 cards. 5.21 for the G200, and something older (like 4.33) for the millenniumII

Oh - and I mean just the drivers from 4.33 for your MillII - not the powerdesk apps...just the bare drivers...

The Millennium II is running the 4.33 drivers, and nothing else. All GDI and DirectX applications have been quite happy with this configuration. There hasn't been any problems until now

Will try removing the Mill2 later tonight. Probably won't happen until 4 am though. Everquest has become an addiction

GOD DAMN!! OpenGL doesn't work when multiple monitors are enabled in Win98! It NEVER has! It may work when using the 2 monitors on the G400, but if you are using two video card, Windows will not used any ICD's, and will default to software!

SIMPLY DISABLE YOUR 2ND VIDEO CARD WHILE USING OPENGL!!
