  • My G200, AGPx2, and a liney problem

I have a Millenium G200 AGP. However, it is not runnig at AGPx2. I have used the Registry Hacks to force AGPx2, and this cause Windows to start wil line everywhere on the screen, or a garbled picture, and stops responding. My motherboard does support AGPx2, so I don't know what to blame/do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps if you gave a bit more details on the system, such as motherboard, processor, card drivers, and BIOS (both mobo and card)... My mobo supports 2x, but it won't do it. No great surprise, I'm running a SS7 board with an MVP3 chip-set.

Yes, more info on your system will make things easier...And incidently, if you have an ALi V chipset mobo, I have the ALi AGP drivers registry settings that will enable AGP2x beside using the MURC registry hacks.

I have a Millenium G200 8meg APG, on VA-503+ (K6-2/400, 128meg RAM [not as important though]). I have found that is seems to be the G200 on the VA-503+. However, all the tips and trick that people say to try have failed. The G200 has been flash to the latest BIOS (the one that came out a few weeks ago), however I have not flashed the M/Board (scared of killing it ). If this would fix it, I would though.

Thats it I guess... Thanks for replying.

Well, Phil, then I would just let it lay at 1X. SS7 boards, in general have a rough time with any true AGP cards (G200/G400, ATI, TNT2), but now with the use of driver and BIOS tweakin, they have been made to work okay. The motherboard is the cause of your problem. Don't sweat it, the difference in performance is nil.
