Oh, I should've added this to my previous post but I forgot.

Tech Demo, worked once or twice hasn't worked since even after numerous uninstalls and installs.

Quake 2 demo (from a MaximumPC) cd doesn't work, it did once, now it just crashes my computer.

Forsaken and Expendable (being directx I believe) works wonderfully.

Can somebody tell me if I did something wrong with the above two demos?

Oh no!,I'm answering my own question!
Anyway, for reference to anyone out there who may have similar problems...I did some house cleaning and deleted the Descent3 demo among others...then I rebooted and tried the tech demo...It worked!!!! finally!!!
