  • motherboard settings w/G400

    anyone know what are best settings for bios on mvp3 boards and g400?

        oh-and i have k63@450 and motherboard has 1meg cache-if this makes a diffrence.

          yup, except you will probably be able to use turbo mode on your install.

              Interestingly enough...VIA says to install the vid card drivers FIRST, then install the 4-in-1 pack. I have done it both ways with my Epox MV3PG-M, seems to make no difference...runs fine both ways with my G200.

                I have experimented a lot with the G200 and several MVP3 boards, and have found that with Matrox cards, the chipset drivers should come before the vid card drivers. I think the reason VIA wants the card's drivers first is so you can boot into windows and see everything. I just know that the order you install them is related to the stability of the installation. I can't give an explanation, it just works, for your Matrox AGP cards, install the MB patches first, then the video drivers.

                    hey-thanks but i have it.i keep up with my boards software.got this g400 runnin like a raped ape!!it is runnin 2x mode,sideband-the whole nine yards!no crashing anymore-solid as a rock.half-life looks way awesome,fast and smooth.carmageddon2 is much faster than on my previous banshee card.gonna try motoracer next for d3d.
