  • 3DMark result below average

I checked with the Global compare option in 3DMark and it seems that my Results are below average... I tried everything but nothing...
My result is 5629... I even o/c my p3-500 to 575 and my G400 to 150/200 to get this result (btw AGP x2 gained me some points) these result are with 800x600x16bit Z16Bit and NO background programs running.

Why do you think that ridiculously high score is "below average?"

    My Vanilla G400 at spec on a PIII 500 MHz system is getting about 4,900 3D Marks. I have a Celeron-based system @ 525 MHz with a Voodoo3 3000 @ 175 MHz, and it gets just under 4,000 3D Marks. You're getting scores above 5,600!

Was this a typo? What do you think the average score for a current generation board is?

I think you can rest assured your G400 is racking up some pretty impressive numbers.

If you want the highest results, get to 1024x768 and higher... 1024x768 would still probably not do it... UTNT2 is faster here... but 1280x1024x32bit will

        I-WANT-THESE-SCORES!!
Does SSE make that big a difference and is the G400 THAT CPU intensive????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????

Oh I do not feel very well!!!

SSE difference is large if used.
          3DMark Scores thus:
          P2-450: 3615
          P3-450: 4297
          P3-560: 5244
          P3-560: 5292 (at 1024x768x16)

This is on the same box, with processors slotted in/out - and the P3-450 o'clocked to
          560 (124 bus).i OEM G400 32Meg @ 800x600x16

Thats a simple 18% gain for the SSE ....
Note that theres no loss moving from 800x600 to 1024x768 either!!!! Nice card - shame about the driver probs.

Still when I check with Global Compare in the 3DMark program there internet site shows that i am below the average... and to ur question about SSE it really makes a different. I just hope software companies will start making use of it... I noticed that Q3Test detects the PIII but from scores I've seen no optimization is in there. Matrox SHOULD add SSE (and 3DNow! for AMD losers) in there drivers.
