  • G200, broken clips

The clips that keep my memory module in place have snapped! Anyone have this problem? How to fix?

I've considered using a glue gun on the edges of the module where i couldn't damage any circuitry. Glue temp reaches ~230F. Will I do damage to the PCB like this?

    Thanks

Solder gets a whole lot hotter than that. I wouldn't worry about it but hot glue probably won't hold. Try epoxy.

sdram takes a big shove just to insert. You could probably lift your pc my the mem chip w/out the clips

not on mine. the chip will angle forward 45 degrees to the socket.

unless of course, this is the reason for my random text garbling.... food for thought. Thanks for the suggestion.!
