  • PD 4.12 (G400/NT4) mess up my system ???

Co. driver delivered in G400 installationCD. When I first installed it, it worked ok. Then
I changed one HD and booted up... and when I was supposed to log in everything messed and system locked up... After two fresh Nt-installations I still haven't been able to get it working right ? Suggestions ?? Yes I have scanned my system for viruses, and formatted my HD's . Everything should be like it was when it worked. Could it be memory issue ??? (Since then NT has ocasionally showed me message like this: Instruction at 0x77f88... refereced memory at 0x00000018. Memory could not be read . First adress is not allways the same (nor the application)but the last is.)

NT with SP3 or better (AGP support)?

At the moment SP3 installed, but I have tried SP4 and even SP5.

Can be almost anything really. Check if everything is seated correctly (cards, DIMMs, CPU, cables). If everything is snug, check for conflicts. Assign a dedicated IRQ to the G400 (you may want to assign all your IRQs manually in BIOS). If you still can't get it right, you may want to try taking out cards.

If this doesn't help you better come back and post your hardware specs.

Under win98-no irg or any other warnings, under NT-havent checked yet, but I think that there shouldn't had happened anything because I just replaced one HD to another ...
Think I have to just rip out my cards one by one, and try different cards that I have there now.. By the way My system specs are:
            G400 SH 32 megs, AMD K6-2/450@450/asus P5A/128 meg /2 HDs (quantum FB5.1 and seagate st3xxx (2.1)). But I bought today cel400A & Abit BX6 r2.31... tomorrow @ same time I,m a little bit wiser... hope so...

AaH ! Nice to see everything again 1024X768/32 bit... too bad it's my good old G200 giving me this pleasure... Have to test if these 4.22 drivers are able to give me the same with G400.... (No erros or similar symptoms as with G400/PD4.12 combo.

So the G200 solved your problem, and you're now a happy camper, right?

Yes, quite happy, but I have to try if these 4.22 drivers eliminates the trouble with G400 and NT4... At least the 4.22 installer claims that it would work with G400... Have to see... I'll be back ....
