  • Hrm...dualhead help, refresh rates

I like dualhead. I like zoom. I like the dvd out on the second monitor port.

BUT, how can I change the refresh on the other port? AFAIK it can go up to 1280x1024@85hz. My other monitor can't even do that but it can do 75hz at 1024x768, and 85 at 800x600. But the dualhead puts out 60hz for resolutions by default (I'm sure b/c of TV limitations) and for the life of me, I cannot figure out, or find any info on changing the refresh rate for the other monitor! I tried messing around some, and it put out 85hz at 1024 (same as primary) to the second monitor :/ which did not please me, because it could potentially damage it. (though in reality it just scrambles it until I go back)

Thx in advance. Right now I have it at 60hz and zoomed in (free sniper mode in HL but it bothers me for extended use.

      Hi Zypher,

Once you goto the settings tab, you should a picture of 2 monitors. Click on the second monitor and then on advanced. Now select a monitor for profile for it.

Once you do this, you can have 2 different refresh rates/resolutions on your monitors.

I think by default, windows will assign a VGA profile or their TV profile for it.

Nope, only one in settings. I'm not using multimon, this is clone...hrm

RE: zoom. I set the second to 640x480, main to 1024x768. You have to set it up in advance, it wouldn't let you do the 'zoom selection' after you launch a game :/

BTW, my primary monitor doesn't show up in their list. (adi 6p) which might affect things. Neither does secondary, mag 710v2. :/ they need to add to their list.

Oh yes...the zoom didn't seem to work very good. Not very zoomed (640 on 1024) so I don't know how much it could help :/ I wish you could do the drag n select thing with HL, b/c then I'd pick a real small spot on my crosshair
