Installation Problem

After following all the correct procedures for deleting old drivers for both my Matrox Millenium II & Diamond Monster cards, I am getting an UFB error which won't let me run several of my games (Unreal, Quake 1 & 2, NFSIII).

The error reads:
_GlideInitEnvironment: glide2x.dll expected Voodoo Graphics, none detected

Can anyone please tell me how to fix this so I don't have to re-format? Puleeezzzee.

And here I thought installing the card was too easy

I don't know how to fix it, but the problem is that your games are trying to use glide.
please list the dlls in your \quake directory.

I'm going to try re-installing one or two of the games, but I don't think that will help.

try renaming the opengl32.dll in your quake directory to opengl32.dll.bak it is probably 3dfx's.

I deleted the opengl.dll file in the quake folder and dropped in the latest ICD beta and it worked. The only problem now is that the Quake is very dark even with the max. brightness option in the video settings and turning it up on my monitor also.

If its not one thing, it's another.

That darkness problem goes way back before the G400. Try to find a program called "idgamma". I think thats how I fixed if.

Personaly, I don't like IDgamma. It's a hassle to get running right with all the various mods.

Just drop these 4 lines into your q2 autoexc.cfg....
set intensity "1.0"
set vid_gamma "0.9"
set gl_modulate "3.5"
set gl_saturate "0"
