  • need help! matrox g400 max troubles

    Here we go:first i installed matrox for my system everything was fine until i played games,bugs,crashes...so i uptaded video bios
    i thought it would help,no it only got worse.
    i cant use dos neither bios anymore cause monitor is shut down, then it blinks on in windows so its unable to use vga mode anymore.then i installed agp-drivers for my mainboard and games are rolling great!!!but i cant use dos neither bios anymore cause i uptaded the goddam video bios,great what can i do.i tried to use emergency disk to fix the bios but it didnt work it says something "vga disabled bios version 1.5..."matrox g400 max was expensive card so i did work hard to get it and now its not working correctly.please help me!!

    First of all, slow down. Everything just ran into one there.

    Next, what's going on? You aren't seeing any kind of dos/character display?

    And when you say it's "unstable even in VGA mode", how do you mean unstable. The video is just blanking out? Are you getting corrupt screens?

    A few things - are you overclocking? Did you completely uninstall any old drivers?

    To me it sounds like the card's bios is corrupt. And that can be fixed.

    Where did you buy it, can you return it?

    What kind of system, what kind of monitor?

      first,sorry about my bad english.so monitor is black,shut down,off...when buuting up,it remains off until windows is loaded then it turns on again.i didnt have these problems until i uptaded video bios so how on earth i can fix this video bios?when i boot to dos-mode it says "out of range".monitor is ok for sure and i havent overclocked my system.
      so yore right video bios is corrupted.please reply if you can help me.thanks!

        yep - sounds like a corrupted bios to me. You can program your bios through windows now usint ubioswin.exe. Give that a go.
