    Hi Paul,

Sometimes, our OEM's won't post up our latest driver on their web site for reasons unknown to Technical Support.

So I can't take the chance of annoying our OEM's if we publically state that our latest driver fixes a bug with them but they rejected the driver.

Ok Haig, make good on your promise. Let's see what's been done in Driver 5.25 and BIOS 1.5. Thank you.

        Hi red2,

You sure I promised this somewhere ?

In any case, I will do it for the next set of supported driver release.

Canopus Corp. includes a link to a .txt file to each of the driver releases on their driver-download page. The txt file is named the same as the driver file. Here is a sample of a Pure 3D update:

          -

          ******* 2.0 Installation Instructions *******

To install this driver update, run the self-extracting EXE program and follow its directions. The Setup program will overwrite your existing Windows 9X drivers.

          ******* 3.0 What's New *******

These new BETA drivers now include support for Glide 3.0 and DirectX 6. To play older DOS Glide games run P3D2UTIL.EXE prior to launching the game. The new P3D2UTIL.EXE can be found in the directory where Pure3D II was installed.

Below are Enhancements and Fixes made since the 1.30.02 driver release. If you have a bug to report and it is not reported as fixed or known in this document then report it to beta@canopuscorp.com

          ******* 3.1 Enhancements *******

          1. Updated the Application Launcher to version 1.04.10.

          2. Added support for Glide 3.

          3. Added support for DirectX 6.

          4. Setup now installs the DOS Glide driver to the Windows directory for DOS games.

          ******* 3.2 Fixes *******

          1. The Application Launcher in Autohide mode will no longer cause the Windows 95 screen saver and bubble help to stop working.

          2. Fixed the SLI issue with interleaving lines when running Direct3D games.

          ******* 3.3 Known Problems *******

          1. Not all 3Dfx games will run on Voodoo2 boards. Contact the game company if you are unsure.

          2. The version of Glide in the display properties Pure3D II tab is reading the Glide2x file not the Glide3x file. Our final release will fix this.

          3. Setting the refresh rate thru the display properties Pure3D II tab will not work for Glide games. Our final release will fix this.

          4. Quick Control adjustments do not work for Glide 3 games. Our final release will fix this.

          5. Glide 2 applications flash with a white screen when the Force Triple Color Buffering option is enabled. Our final release will fix this.

And here's a link to their Spectra 2k5 driver download page. Take a note at the simplicity and informative style:

          http://www.canopuscorp.com/spectra25...10_drivers.htm

And notice the "installation instructions". It's only two (2) sentences long!! Matrox' is almost two pages viewed at 1024x768.

This is what I'm used to since I own a Spectra 2k5 and a Pure 3D II. When I saw M's driver download page (I had to fumble arund for a while till I figured out that WHQL and unified drivers actually meant "old stuff"), I got a feeling of ignorance all over the place.

Here's the latest drivers. Yes, the latest. No, we don't know what's new with them, but Yes, they are the latest.

hope I didn't sound too hars...

Damn, it wasn't the RC2 after all. It was build 2114. The RC2 comes tomorrow as build 2128.
