DVD addon for G200, and DVD Player sold to Matroxians pre-G400 days all uses the crappy Zoran player.

G400 comes with the Matrox DVD Player using the Divicore/Ravisent/Quadrant Cinemaster engine. Makes sense?

Anyway, my player (comes with me trusty MAX) is crashing left, right, and center. BSOD everytime I run it. Nobody wanted to help me though. Posted my problems both in the MHW and the Video fori.

Take care.

thanx

just one more thing, makes any sense to upgrade cinemaster engine with newest one? is a generic cinemaster compatibile with G400 one? or is it possible to copy just the new dll files?

Try it and let us know.

Of course, backup the files to be replaced.

If it works, we expect a detailed description of the process/procedures.

Good LUCK!!

Others have upgraded the DVD player by replacing the .dll files. My understanding is that they do this for improved surround-sound. I have not bothered to try this myself yet...

If you update the cinemaster dll's with the latest cinemaster dll's, (from dvdutils.com), It still works but DVDMax doesn't anymore.

You update buy copying the .dlls into your \windows\system folder. I think there are 9 files yo uneed to copy.
I tried it, but caused problems with DVDMax, so put the old .dlls back (back them up first).
