  • Rebooting with "shift"-key doesnt work

    Howdie.

Since I pluged my new G400 into my system, OS is Win98SE (fresh installation), it won´t restart properly anymore when holding down the "shift"-key.
The screen just stays black, and the system "seems" to hang. I can´t "shutdown" to MS-Dos mode either.
    Any ideas?
-With my Viper 330 (and a Voodoo II 12MB) everything worked fine.

    My system´s specs:
    P-II350@392 (FSB 112), Asus P2B, G40032DH, 160Ram, SBLive, scanner-adapter (ISA), two network-devices.

    BTW:
How do I "ENABLE" VSYNC in OpenGL???

    Hi,
I did see on ZDTV that the shift/shutdown option that just restarts windows no longer works in Windows 98 Second Edition. The only way to reboot is to do a full reboot.

Shut down to DOS and then "exit" back into windows. It's almost as good. It's what I always do. No need for full reboot.

That depends on if you have a dosstart.bat....

          Hi !
The same was happen to me (shift+restart didn't work). How ever I've found solution for this:
Just set 'AGPFallback' in registry to 1, before w98 start (eg in autoecex.bat) or after g200drv initialization. PD5.2x sets this flag automaticly to 0 (for me).
...and about shift-restart: work ok in w98se
