3dfx will be issuing a formal announcement regarding reports about the postponement of Voodoo4 this afternoon. As we reported yesterday, potentially disappointing news has emerged that tells of a possible delay in the release of the company’s next graphics accelerator into 2000 due to technical challenges that postponed it reaching manufacturing on schedule.

augh, gee, and since Matrox says we sould have new drivers with TurboGL on Oct 8, maybe we'll have them for our X-Mass presents. Let's see 3dfx (hope thats currently the corect way to write it), G400 (W/EMBM, DH, and TurboGL), 3dfx, G400. Well I think I'll stick with my MAX thank you very much.

Compromise is giving somebody a beta driver in place of a full and final driver and telling them it's on its way. I don't suppose you remember that, being Matrox users 'n' all. Well, one day, it'll be a perfect world, and we'll all have cards that promise the world but don't deliver it until you're thinking about upgrading, then you lonely G400 users won't be alone any more

I've had my V3 for what, 6 months now? I paid practically nothing for it, and won't be hurting when I move on, unlike if I had bought a G400 MAX last week for AU$500, shit, I don't think I'd want to be retiring that hardware too quickly!

Yup, compromising means that V3 still doesn't have a full ICD, doesn't have 32 bit, doesn't have dual head, doesn't have EMBM, can't implement AGP, doesn't have the visual quality of a G200 much less a G400, oh should I go on, well you get the point. Oh yeah, I remember your argument, what is the point of buying a G400 when there is a V4 coming in October.

24bit, bah, I won't argue over image qualilty, coz I'm not one to stand around taking screenshots all day.

Dual head, yeah, I can see a use for it at work. Bit of a waste at home, especially seeing as I keep my computer as far away from my TV as I can get it.

AGP, show me a program other than a benchmark that uses it seriously.
