g400 busmaster problem under win95

If bus mastering on my g400 is enabled under win95osr2 the system crashes all the time.
Without it works fine but slow.
Anybody know how to fix this problem

Software: win95 osr2, directx6.1, bios 1.5-22, treiber 4.11.01.1250
hardware: p3-450, asus p2b

1. Have you installed the USBSUPP,exe upgrade from Microsloth? It is required for AGP cards to work properly.

2. Make sure you have an IRQ assigned to the G400, and that there is nothing else besides an IRQ holder on that some IRQ, and that it is IRQ 9 or higher.

3. Try forcing 1x AGP (registry hacks available at murc's downloads page).

Just out of curiosity, why do you think that it is important to have the IRQ# 9 or higher? Like, what is the difference between having say irq 5 or irq 9 ?

Matrox cards have always used level activation for interrupts. Level detection on most mobos means IRQ9 and above. Everything below IRQ9 is edge activated.

(or is it the other way around?...too early to think about it )
