  • Screen Fonts + G400 Max

Does anyone know how to darken screen fonts in the registry. My new G400 Max has given me fuzzy and light fonts on the screen. If you have any other solutions that might produce a crisp font visually, please let me know.

Let me add that I have a new monitor, a IIyama VisionMaster 510, with new cord. I have the newest bios as well.

I would try another cable, preferably one as good a quality as possible. The only time I have had poor on-screen fonts is when I used an extension or a poor-quality cable. If it's not the cable, did you have nice fonts with your monitor with a different video card, no other changes (same cable, same computer, same resolution?).

I took the monitor to my other computer. The cable is brand new and I tried another cable as well, both giving the same font problem. Do you know where to edit the registry to darken the screen fonts?

It's the monitor not the card or cable. Fool around with the monitor controls and/or color profiles etc in the display properties.

No, I don't even know if the registry has an effect on screen font darkness. I don't believe that would be the best way to solve your problem. I would call Matrox tech support and get them involved. Once they are convinced that it is your video card which is at fault, they will help you make arrangements to get a new one.

By the way, did the monitor look good on the other computer? Also, what screen font and point size are you using? Is it different on the two computers? THe point size of the font can make a huge difference in its appearance.

I have the same monitor and it has the same "problem", on a white background the fonts are lighter than they should be. Not a problem for me maybe it is worse on his monitor.
