Will ever be a G400 MAX 32Mb without Dual Head ? Comparing the "normal" G400 it's quite a difference on pricing having this capability (which by the way I don't have the extra room, or money, for a 2nd monitor)

It appears that the specs for the next board are pretty well set so the announcement , when it comes next spring , will not be the suprise we would otherwise experience. Dan Wood, Technical Marketing Director for Matrox, has set them out in the current MAXIMUM PC ,viz,
" The year 2000 videocard will have at least four times the fill of a cutting-edge videocard today. Fill rates these days are well above 300 megapixel, so its got to be well above a gigapixel;its got to have support for all the features of DirectX7;its got to have some ability to bumpmapp and have multihead display; and framerates have to be extremely high, along with colour quality. You must support higher resolution textures . And I think there's real interest in solving the anti-aliasing problem at the next step of the game. "
Heheh. Now it appears the dickheads who choose
Nvidia GeForce will get half those features and the losers who take a V4 will get the other half . We will get it all.
Oh and BTW , he mentions that retail is a small part of the Matrox income stream which , as PaulC I believe mentioned ,may account for the miniscule retail supply of the MAX at present.
In toronto it's three weeks from next tuesday already, at least in my world...
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox
