You obviously fail to see that P3 and Athlon were chosen for their SIMD capabilities. They support SSE and extended 3DNow! while classic 3DNow! was left unsupported.
When you see that, you might think that it's weird choise because people using older AMD products are not getting anything while there really is no reason they shouldn't. From your ignorant comments as well as the other people who defend Matrox's choise, I can guess that you do not own such a CPU yourself. However I dare to say that K6-3 would outperform P3 with equal clock if both's extensions are properly applied. Therefore ruling out classic 3DNow! set is not good service for custumers like me at all.
Just how many more K6-2/3 systems there are than Athlons? Matrox is just crying for new customers while G400 doesn't even match Athlons power anyway.
Old customers are left behind.
