I have a G400 Max and 32MB DH non max, why is it when running 3DMark99 there are only 21 points difference between the 2 cards in the same machine. In the all important game framerates there is virtually no difference in frame rates. The MAX scores 5616. Im running an O/C P3 @ 558 + 192mb Ram.

The Max will only start to show a performance gap at about 1024X768 32-bit and above. below that you are not pushing the card enough...Celeron 566@877 1.8V, 256meg generic PC-100 RAM (running at CAS2) Abit BH6, G400 16meg DH@150/200, Western Digital Expert 18gig, Ricoh mp7040A(morphed to mp7060A) Pioneer 6X DVD slot load, Motorola Cable Modem w/DEC ethernet card, Soundblaster Live Value Ver. 2, Viewsonic GT 775 -
Thx, thats a reasonable response but, even with my p3@558 I wouldn't consider (so far) the G400Max to be fast enough to run todays games at 60fps at 1k res upwards. Tested so far on HL, Unreal, Battlezone, AvP, Toca2. Maybe in time as the drivers mature things will change a little.Comment
