TurboGL for G200 would be nice. Or better yet, more stable performance with OGL ICD.

      Rags,

I know you weren't calling me ignorant. I called myself ignorant. I guess I've been hanging around in General Hardware too long tryin' to get my new PIII-450 to blow salty chunks at 600+. I should have my head partitioned...duh...examined!

Irony is generally overused by us Danes. Maybe I should watch what I write in the future...

I tells me a lot about you that you cared enough about how I responded, to make you post a 'better make sure this dude doesn't go through the roof' post. Thanks! And I mean it! Thank you!

To the rest of you: If you ever showed your G200 to your friends, granny, dog or goldfish get them to post on this thread!!! WE WANT TURBO!!!

Ok, I'll settle down now and take my medication...

      Kind regards,

      Jake

Several weeks back the Linux GLX driver which can only be described as an alpha at this stage I suppose was already as fast or a little faster in some cases than it's Windows 89x counterpart. And that is before they have started putting in any of the real meat to the driver.

Yes. I am very pleased with the progress on the glx driver. I can now play q3 without having to reboot to windows. I think its amazing how far they have gotten in such a short amount of time, and I'm sure they will soon outpace the windows drivers by a significant amount.

Here here, a TurboGL or a better ICD would be nice... especially since I have no intention of getting a G400( waiting for the next gen. whatever it will be, G800 anybody?).

I agree with Paulcs. Now that Apple has such an awesome machine, it's a shame it has to make due with an ATI video card. The G4-G400 (or even G200) combo would rock, especially for graphics professionals. Their new AGP slot will take any PC AGP card if the drivers exist for it.

Now that Matrox seems to be a lot more on the ball as far as drivers are concerned, why not write some drivers for the MAC? OSX uses the same basic kernel as BSD, so some of the work being done on linux drivers could be paralleled in OSX. It's by far the biggest market left untapped by big M, and I'm sure the Apple people would love such a high end option to offer their customers. After all, Photoshop people is one of their main target audiences

I am one who would love to see a g200 turbo icd. I am saving my pennies for a Geforce256 and would like some feeble excuse not to. I have had my card for about a year and a half, and have never been able to utilize it in a manner that would convince me to purchase anything with the matrox name on it. so give me an excuse to stay in the camp...
