    Overclockin' Q.

    Hello I Have Abit bh6 v1.01
    and IhAVE p3-450
    and i know that with the abit mother board it's posibile to change multipler
    so what will work better 4.5/133 or 5/124???
    whih one of the setings makes more heat on the cpu and which one i can get more succeful????
    and of course Ihave boxed cpu and I'm not going to replace any heat-sink because my case temp is around 24~35c

    You can change the FSB speed, you cannot change the multiplier. the 450 is locked at 4.5 multiplier, there is no way around it

      In the abit board you can (HIGH SIGNAL
      and you can try this by your self
      you can read the review on http://www.bxboards.com/bh6.htm
      and dont forget that ihave p3 450 and not lower so when the option SEL 100/66#
      is on low it un lock all cpus that are over p2 350
      so now what you guys think?
      which option is the best???

        Sorry. I had the same setup for a short period of time before moving from the BH6 to a BE6. Both of these boards work the same way. The low/high setting is only effective for some of the older PII's above 350. The later PII's/Celerons/P!!!s are all clock locked in a different manner than those older ones, and this setting has no effect. So, 5x100 won't work with our processors. However, 4.5x124 (558) is almost guaranteed to work fine for you, as it is for me. Too bad the BH6 and BE6 don't support a 129Mhz FSB setting (the BX6 2.0- later revisions does). This would allow you to try 4.5x129 (581), which has a good chance of working. In fact, my processor is extremely stable at 558, so it will probably run at 581. 4.5x133 (600) will boot but not make it into Windows98.
