  • how much performance gap between 8 mg vs 16mg at g200

Hello , I'm using g200 with 8mb sgram, and I'm wondering if I added 8mb with it there would be better performance at 3D game such as motor2 , Quake2, rainbow 6 etc.

any reply gives me big help , and I will appreciate it.

    have a good day!...

No it will not give you more performance. It will allow to use higer resolutions/higher colour depth and triple buffering. But as the G200 starts to dive down in performance above 800x600, I guess that´s not much use for the memory upgrade.
A much better upgrade (and not very expensive - Ok ok maybe a little) would be a G400 OEM 16 Mb, for instance. Now that would give a definite boost in 3d performance

The extra RAM actually slows many G200s down (it did to mine). Don't bother. It will do nothing for you.

The 8Mb upgrades are slower than the onboard RAM. I suggest not buying the memory, but put a good cooler on there (eg the lasagne from Tenmax) and overclock. You will be able to overclock further without the extra RAM.
