I have the same problem but no solution: Microsoft has enforced DirectX 7 requirements after Build 2077. This means that Direct3D can only be enabled when Matrox comes up with a DX7 certified driver.
I have seen no hacks until now to crack the DX7 enforcement... Anybody?
The good news: Matrox is working on a DX7 Win2k driver (only downloadable for Developer relations, Duh...
