I had a Amiga 2000 at work with GVP G-Force 040, Picasso graphic card, A-MAX for MAC hardware emulation, Vortex 486 for PC hardware emulation. All working at the same time, gee those where the days

Still have the CD32+MPEG to do CDI Video.

CD32 with FMV (MPEG) cartridge? They were almost impossible to get hold of in England when they came out, as they had to keep changing it because Philips moifying the standard several times. And then C= went out of business (Medhi Ali burn in hell).

They are actually still worth something here too - because there are so few.

Like SteveC, I was an enemy of the state - owned various versions of the Atari until Atari started getting stupid (how much longer did they think they could get away with a 16 color 640x480 interface for their flagship computer???). Actually, I should say, "until they started getting really stupid," because they did an admirable job of non-advertizing themselves into anonymity. In fact, I *still* play all my favorite Atari 8-bit games through a great emulator.

One more thing. I've *never* seen a computer easier to program in assembler than the Atari 800.

              I had a Vic20 a couple of month, then a C64 for 2 years.
Then I bought a A500 as soon as I could get one, bought a A500+ when they come, then I bought a A4000/030 but I sold it just after 2 months, then Commodore was gone.

Amiga was a great computer, and many great games.
Psygnosis made many great games on Amiga from Barbarian to Shadow Of The Beast.

Was Shadow Of The Beast ever made for PC?

An Amiga 500 and 600HD (waste of money that one). Hey, since you are all into memory protected, pre-emptively multitasked, multiprocessing (remember COPPER) operating systems, why aren't you all NT users?

Let me guess, 'cause Matrox can't write NT drivers right? Well at least nothing useful for games!

Hmmm I can't believe I missed this thread until now. I've been an Amigan since 1987. I've still got my A500 1.2 workbench rom system, with 512Kb memory upgrade, 2nd disk drive, MiniGen, Midi interface, etc, and 80+ games.

Himself, you are right, the Amiga embodied the pinnacle of "clever" computing technology. It's been all downhill since then. Microsoft have stagnated natural OS development by many many years.
