  • More Abit & G400 problems

It works fine in 2D mode, put the minute it touches a 3D game it crashes, either completely or back to Windows desktop. I hate the Abit board anyway, so am replacing it with a Supermicro P6-SBA, see if that works, otherwise the cards going back and I'll get a Voodoo 3 which I know works in there cause I've tried it.

It crashes with PD 5.25 and others, DX6, 6.1 and 7.

PS. Yes, I have made sure the card if properly and firmly fitted into the AGP slot.

why are you going to run out and degrade your system by putting a V3 into your system? Call matrox or email them and get your card RMAed before you go and blow another $200 bucks on a video card thats inferior to the G400 quaitly-wise. I just got my Max the other day and it works fine with 2x AGP and no lock ups what so ever.

I used to have a SLI V2 and a G200 marvel combo in my system. I loved the V2 speed till one day I tried out the G200 and saw how much sharper the detail was and how good everything looked in 32 bit color in Q3. Only thing that sucks is that the speed differance between the two was so great that Q3 was almost unplayable compaired to the V2 setup. Thats the reason I got the G400....speed and quality!

    Goood luck

Paul C, RMA the card. Matrox has been very good about replacing the cards not working in ABIT systems.
Matrox will even cross swap the card if you want so you won't be without a card in your system.
