Hi!
I got some great improvements with the new 5.30 drivers.
I have a pentium III 450 overclocked to 558 Mhz on an Abit BE6 motherboard. I have the G400 Max 32megs (not overclocked)
Here are my Quake II benchmarks:
Demo 1
640 by 480 (5.25 drivers) - 87.9 fps
(5.30 drivers) - 104.1 fps
800 by 600 (5.25 drivers) - 83.5 fps
(5.30 drivers0 - 99 fps
Crusher
640 by 480 (5.25 drivers) - 45 fps
(5.30 drivers) - 52.9 fps
800 by 600 (5.25 drivers) - 43.9 fps
(5.30 drivers) - 51.8 fps
Massive 1
640 by 480 (5.25 drivers) - 65.6 fps
(5.30 drivers) - 78.9 fps
800 by 600 (5.25 drivers) - 64.4 fps
(5.30 drivers) - 77.1 fps
I didn't disable the sound in any of the demos.
This goes to prove that the Matrox G400 doesn't suck in OpenGL Games anymore. Now I can hang on to my G400 Max and wait for better cards to release next year.
