  • TurboGL works with Voodoo 2

Why is everyone saying that the Turbo GL won't work with Voodoo 2s in the system? I have a G400 and duel Voodoo 2 and everything works fine.
In Quake 2 it says Gl_renderer Matrox Turbo Gl G400 when it starts and it plays great!
I understand that you can't use the Voodoo now unless you reinstall the 3DFX Mini Gl but to say the Turbo Gl doesn't work with a Voodoo in the system is wrong.
I tried it with Unreal, Quake 2 and 3 and Half Life and everything is fine. My Glide games like Nascar 3 (I like the Glide version better) still play fine.
All I know is mine works fine. And thats all I got to say about that.

Mine didn't work properly. Metabyte's eyeScream drivers tried to initialize before the TurboGL driver until I did some hacking around, even after installing the TurboGL driver.

And those of us with multi-monitor mode can tell right away if the TurboGL isn't working - the regular ICD doesn't work for gaming with multi-monitor mode enabled.

    Just my $0.02

I am using the 3DFX reference drivers and my Voodoo 2s are just generic ones.

I can't use the generic drivers. I've got mismatched V2's that use different memory controllers - hence the need for eyeScream, it takes care of those problems.

I'm getting new V2's shortly - Creative Labs stuff. We'll see how that goes.
